Turning Japanese: Curved house located in Japan is modern, sophisticated and functional

Meet this very modern and unusual house that was built by Hideo Kumaki Architect Office, located in Saitama, Japan. From the front the house is reminiscent of a boat, with its long, curved walls and skewed shape, but around the back of the house a whole new view is given. One of the main features of this house is its curved exterior wall that overlooks onto the garden, and the living wall that protects against direct sunlight and forms a covered terrace area. The interior has been kept simple and functional with white walls, wooden flooring and several feature walls and furniture. This makes the construction of the building really stand out and become the focal point for the whole house. Photos by Yukinori Okamura and Mayuko Ebina.
