Train Car Converted into a Functional Home

Train Car Converted into a Functional Home

11 November, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

Designer Andrew Hinman renovated the interior of a train car to provide all of the comforts that homeowners have come to expect. Although the physical exterior of the train car remains untouched, a deck, port and additional structures were built to compliment it. Directly around the train car is a structure that looks very similar to a train station platform. Glass windows surround the train, while a slanted metal slab serves as the ceiling. A small dining set appears on the platform, inviting the occupants to come out for a relaxing bite to eat. The interior of the train car itself is laid out like the inside of a recreational vehicle. The rooms are small, but the design and execution are nothing short of genius.
