The Interesting Architecture of a Custom Built Santa Monica Home

The Interesting Architecture of a Custom Built Santa Monica Home

22 November, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

Concrete, rocks, pebbles, metal, wood and fire have been combined to create the magnificent exterior of this intrinsic home in Santa Monica, California. Developed by Griffin Enright Architects, the house itself has been built on a slight incline. Manmade terraces created from stone blocks lead to an outdoor fire pit. Walking paths filled with smooth pebbles surround the white walls that made up the outside of the home. The interior mostly consists of white furnishings, but there are dark elements and accents added for balance. Skylights are positioned in a staggered pattern, small panels acting as partition separators. Earthy green vases sit lined on four shelves in the kitchen, where a stainless steel refrigerator and a modern sink faucet also make their home.
