With its ultra modern stature and minimalist white exterior walls, this house is utterly breathtaking. Architects of Studio Pitsou Kedem Architects have designed this large, spacious and sleek home in Israel that has a plethora of amazing features. The front of the house has been deliberately closed off during construction to give the owners privacy, but the rear of the house opens out like a flower in spring and allows so much light to penetrate through the enormous windows. With three identically constructed houses, it is clear to see from the pictures which one has been given a new lease of life. On the left we have a very clean and modern looking house with traditional Brazilian features, followed by two identically structured houses that look worn down and rustic. The design team at Tiago do Vale Architects decided to renovate this historic building and make it into something that is suitable for today’s lifestyle. Read more

From the outside, this house exudes complexity and dynamism with volumes that overlap and overhang to create depth within the building. One of the best features of this house is the concrete patterned blocks that cover over one of the windows. These blocks are very retro in their appearance, as were often used in the 60’s as a concrete fencing around British homes. Located in Perth, Australia, this house was developed by Residential Attitudes and was created to meet the daily need of the family inhabiting the space. Read more

This unusually striking house consists of a black exterior that has been fitted with a huge number of large floor-to-ceiling windows. With its angular lines, geometric structure and overhanging roof the house has a masculine look and feel that is reinforced by the interior of the house. On the lower level of the house there is a large living room, guest room and master bedroom that have been designed with wooden panelled walls, wooden fixtures and polished wooden furniture. Many people struggle to find the courage to move when they need more space, yet the family of this house found a way around it. They completely reconfigured and expanded their current home, to give the house the space they needed. The original concrete house was built in the 1950’s, and architectural firm, Naturehumaine, added overlapping volumes with a very contemporary wooden slatted exterior to the house. Read more

This white construction stands rather proud and tall mimicking the industrial factory style with its corrugated metal sheet exterior and thin windows. Designed by Graham Baba Architects, this house is located in Seattle, Washington, USA and is a very unusual, yet stunning building on both the inside and out. This is a fantastic example of an unusual loft conversion with eclectic styling and features. This apartment, developed and created by Inblum, is a bright and spacious living space, situated in the converted factory building of Radio engineering. By utilising the old structure, the developers have been able to create a living space with extraordinarily high ceilings and large open windows. The living area has unusual stairs that lead up to the mezzanine floor, creating an open space for the bedroom. Read more

Surrounded by dense forest, this very unusual house is reminiscent of a fairy tale with its bridge like structure and camouflaged appearance. The design was completed by Platt Architecture and it is located in the North of Carolina, USA. With an abundance of wood and stone facades, the exterior of the house has a very rustic and rural look, which gives the overall plot a cottage like charm. This huge structure stands tall on a spacious plot in Baabda, Lebanon and was developed by Raëd Abillama Architects. The exterior looks soft with dusty, neutral coloured stone walls, and large inlaid windows. The outside of the house has a gorgeous roofed patio space for the inhabitants to shelter themselves from the beaming sunshine. The house also benefits from a corner balcony at the top of the house that overlooks the grounds filled with fruit trees and herbal shrubbery. Read more
