Brown wood and gray and white stone has been fused elegantly to make up the outside of this impressive home. Toth Project developed this contemporary home, complete with a carport and attached garage. On the far edge of the property, a short brown wood fence barely glances the still lake waters. A wonderfully designed gray stone brick fireplace is positioned in front of a wall, with just enough space behind it to allow for a cleverly hidden firewood storage area. Read more

Stunning and vivid, the interior of this apartment in Poland has almost completely been laid out in black and white. Designed by Widawscy Studio Architcktury, it is the intrinsic use of color that makes the smallest interior designs awe inspiring. Light and bright blues, cartoon cows and images of a baby fill the nursery. Two skylights sit on a slanted wall in the bathroom, while a staggered pattern of dark and light tiles simulate water droplets in the shower and next to the large mirror. Read more

Two distinct exterior areas of this residential home in Toronto, Canada are distinguished by way of light and dark. The lighter portion of the house appears on the base, covered in wide windows. A darker structure has been fused with the base, elevated and sticking out over a reflecting pool. Presented by Drew Mandel Architects, dark is balanced by light, and the interior dances with nature. A small wooden platform displayed four orange and green abstractly designed chairs lined up and facing one another. Off to the side, a young tree trees in the center of this wood platform. Many spaces in this apartment pay homage to the Pop Art movement, including details seen on the walls and furnishings. Orange is the dominant color here, and it shows itself in the most subtle of ways. A grayscale painting of a busy city rest on one of the walls in the living room. A single car has been colored orange. On the floor, a shaggy, dark orange rug lies. At the dining room table, orange placemats have been arranged. The kitchen backsplash is also a bold hue of orange. This next project was completed by Drozdov & Partners, and shows just how beautiful the modern home can be when consideration is also given to the outdoor spaces. On the first story, the majority of the windows run from floor to ceiling, which makes the outdoor pool, garden and outstanding landscaping viewable throughout. The rounded, cream colored entertainment center holds a television as well as a fireplace. White armchairs and couches surround the wood carved coffee table, which adds and organic element to this modern space. Read more
