Swedish Home with Soft, Rounded Contours

Swedish Home with Soft, Rounded Contours

4 December, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

Design firm Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects felt that creating a smooth, continuous movement from one space to the next within this Swedish home was important above all else. To accomplish this, the architects designed a two level structure with a generous curve and even more length. On the exterior, honey colored wood paneling transitions to a deeper, darker reddish brown toward the opposite end of the home. A series of dark glass window panes have been installed at the top of the house, in the very front, allowing for unfettered views of the great outdoors. Only a select few walls are impacted by the overall shape of the house, but the curved movement continues even in spaces with flat walls.
