Saving the Planet: Modern Chalet styled house is environmentally friendly and inviting

Saving the Planet: Modern Chalet styled house is environmentally friendly and inviting

This very unusual, sleek and simple building is the work of Architekten Stein Hemmes Wirtz which is located in Farshvayler in Germany and is perfectly adapted to the uneven slopes that the house lays upon. The wooden laminated panels added with the solar panels on the roof of this house, make it an environmentally friendly build. The rear of the house rises above street level with its transparent decking outside its large floor to ceiling sliding doors. Inside, the slatted wooden panels are reminiscent of a Scandinavian styled Chalet, and the open plan living space and roof windows make for an inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is at the heart of this house, and creates a wonderful centre piece of entertaining guests. Photos by Eibe Sönnecken.
