Rehabbed New Zealand House Boasts Unusual Concepts

Rehabbed New Zealand House Boasts Unusual Concepts

20 November, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

From the living room, an awe inspiring view of the coast of New Zealand captures small sailboats and tiny cities for miles around. The far wall and ceiling come at an obtuse angle, creating a unique shape to the room. Recessed lighting in the ceilings enhances the calm and cozy mood in the living area. Another wall holds a series of painted glass windows, each secured in their own individual wooden panes. A stark white bathroom also included a circular mirror, situated just beneath two rows of tiny black and gold accent tiles. White walls join a thick wood breakfast bar counter, stainless steel and wood paneling in the kitchen. Each of these concepts is decidedly unique, but when they are used in a home that was recently renovated by Dorrington Architects in a new design scheme, the ideas together form a complete picture.
