Planning for Space: Modern house has been reconstructed to give the owners more room and space

The owners of this building wanted to reconstruct their house to give it a more attractive appearance from the street and a stronger connection to the beautiful courtyard that sits within the grounds of the house. The architects at Studio S Squared Architecture first renovated the second floor giving it a more inviting and interesting look and then gave the ground floor a more open plan, social environment for the family. The family room, breakfast room and dining room were placed within an L-shaped space on the ground floor to create a courtyard on the west side. A stunning porch was added at both the front and rear to create a transitional zone between the indoor and outdoor. The interior has been overhauled and designed with a modern and slightly traditional look and feel, giving it an unusual, yet homely atmosphere.
