Off the Tracks: Old railway station has been transformed into a modern, contemporary home

It is not very often that a disused railway is converted into a rather sleek and stylish modern home, but for the owners of this wonderful abode, it is a very good job that someone with a designer’s eye has taken an interest. Located in the countryside of Connecticut, USA this old railway has been transformed into a modern dwelling by creative team at the company Gray Organschi Architecture. The existing 19th century concrete foundation was saved by the architects and was made into two wooden volumes to facilitate the new rooms, whilst the external structure was built and constructed around the pool and cedar wood decking area. Inside, the interior has been styled with lots of wooden elements and a contemporary theme.
