Modern Home in Japanese Forest Featuring Complex Architecture

Modern Home in Japanese Forest Featuring Complex Architecture

18 December, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

Quiet as a whisper in the woods, this unique home structure is comprised of small rectangular pieces that connect and intertwine between the trees. In fact, not a single tree was cut down or otherwise damaged by Keisuke Kawaguchi+K2-Design during the construction of this home. Set in a secluded forest, this home embraces nature, outside and in. A balcony wraps around an outdoor shrine like garden, which is lined with large rocks and concrete pillars. Open windows reveal views of trees not more than a few feet away. Other organic elements, such as hardwood ceilings throughout and a breathtaking view of the forest from the master bedroom keep the home’s inhabitants thinking about nature no matter where they are.
