Irregularly Shaped Japanese Home with Wood Exterior

Irregularly Shaped Japanese Home with Wood Exterior

5 December, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

Built for a modern, traditional Japanese family, the exciting design of this suburban, single family home is ordinary and intriguing at the same time. Shoes are lined up in need rows in the foyer, where filed flooring and wood paneled walls house bikes and a small swing suspended from the ceiling. From first glance, it is apparent that an active, growing family resides here. The kitchen and living room take up a single, well organized space. Behind the small leather couch are a series of built-in wall shelves. Their rounded edges and contrasting dark wood interior are creatively captivating. At the top of the home, there is a small loft that has been converted into a play room. Created by LEVEL Architects, of Japan, this home can easily be modified to suit any small family’s needs.
