Industrial Invention: Masculine looking exterior has a rather soft centre

This magnificent structure stands proud on the existing foundation of a house in Portland, Oregon, USA. The original and modern architectural approach is mirrored inside and out with various industrial looking elements. Designed by Benjamin Waechter Architect, this two-storey house has a minimalist black exterior that uses metal corrugation to create a very sleek and metallic look whilst the large protruding upper floor gives the ground floor a new sheltered space. The ground floor is home to the very warm and inviting living room, spacious dining area and modern fitted kitchen, whilst the second floor has illuminating bedrooms with delicate and soft features. Overall this construction is a wonderful sight, with a hard and industrial exterior and a playful and soft centre.
