Hiding behind the Wood: Slatted wooden exterior hides a truly wonderful modern house

Slatted wood is hiding a wonderful secret underneath its solid structure and Mark Frazerhurst Architects is the company behind the build. This house is located in Waikato, New Zealand overlooking Lake Taupo. The wooden slats scatter sunlight into the large windows creating a natural environment within the house and reflections that bounce off the walls. The house compromises of a garage, utility room, a sauna, a spa room and a large functional space for entertaining guests. Upstairs are the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and located next to them is the large living room, kitchen and dining room. The balcony overlooks the village and has a truly wonderful framed area at one end, which highlights the beauty of the view and allows the sunlight or moonlight to shine over the balcony itself.
