Former Residential Space Transformed into Artsy Office

Former Residential Space Transformed into Artsy Office

7 November, 2013  |  Office

Complete with work stations, a waiting area, kitchenette, break room and conference room, this hip, kitschy professional office in Slovakia exudes confidence and creativity. In order to achieve a more open floor plan, architect Plus Minus Architects eliminated the interior walls, so that workers would not feel restricted. Parquet flooring is used throughout, and the perimeter brick walls are all painted white. The exposed wood ceiling beams have also been painted white. In the break room, an animal skull decorates the otherwise bare white brick walls. A dainty desk holds an antique sewing machine and a potted plant. Shelving is built into the wall that overlooks a small sink and cooking area. This workspace gives staff the chance to work independently and cooperatively within an aesthetically updated setting.
