Forest Escape: House situated in dense forest is reminiscent of a wooden chalet with modern features

Situated in a dense forest, this house is reminiscent of a wooden chalet with its long slatted exterior and pointed roof. Created by Omar Gandhi Architects for a young, ambitious couple, this house is located in Canada is a wonderfully open space for working and playing. The exterior does not do the house justice as the interior is huge, with very high ceilings and large floor space and very simply constructed for perfect minimalism. The mezzanine floor that overhangs the kitchen is a beautiful feature that allows the feeling of space and light to enter the house. The furnishings are simple, yet very in keeping with the decor of the house, with modern yet practical storage options and the use of rich black colourings to contrast with the warmth of the wooden panelled walls.
