Contemporary Austrian Home With Minimalist Qualities

Contemporary Austrian Home With Minimalist Qualities

19 October, 2013  |  Exterior, House Interior

Overall, this house in Austria takes on a monotone color palette. Natural woods have been left untreated to help accentuate their raw uniqueness. Long wood plans have been arranged in rows, and dark metals utilized to frame out the house. Both horizontal and vertical lines are used to create architecture that is utilitarian and contrary at the same time. The upper level of this Austrian home, designed by Gogl Architekten, extends out far beyond the lower level limits. Taking a top down approach, many of the most interesting intricacies come in the form of metal paneling and oddly arranged shutters. A muted, almost retro interior design style is used on the interior. Pastel colored chairs and a chandelier made from blown glass are the centerpieces of the dining room. View each picture to find out exactly what makes this Austrian home unique.
