The first choice to be made is the shape of the bath tub. The most common shape is the rectangular shape as it takes up less space than some of the others and tends to fit in well with lots of different styles. These types of bath are usually pushed up against the wall and sealed in to create a water-tight join. The next common shape of bath is the corner bath. This is again sealed against the wall, but takes up a lot more room and is often more spacious than the standard rectangular bathtub. One of the more modern shapes of bathtub are the organically shaped examples, which are standalone baths that don’t require fixation to the surrounding walls. These are very popular in modern homes as they take up less room and have space all around them, creating the illusion of more space. Some of these bath tubs are very large in size and give the bathroom an amazing focal point which looks elegant and natural.
One of the more traditional types of bath is the roll-top enamel bath which dates back to Victorian times. These are standalone baths that usually have very opulent legs with gold and blue colourings.
