Abandon the Ordinary: Abandoned house is transformed into a unusual, modern home

From the front, this residential building has a traditional look and feel with vibrant red bricks and tall, thin windows, yet it has a modern secret lurking in its land. This abandoned building located in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia has been completely redesigned using modern materials and a contemporary touch. Completed in 2011 by architect Christopher Botterill, this house has a contemporary construction added to the back of the house that gives it a wonderful terrace overlooking the garden. Inside, the house is even more of a delight as the open plan living area is oozing with sleek modern design touches as well as traditional objects and furniture whilst the injections of colour and patterning really bring the whole house alive.
